Book Reviewed Title: Deenie.

Author: Judy Blume.

What it is about:

The reason why the book is titled Deenie is because it is writing about a girl's life, named Deenie. Her name was given after her mother watched a show, which the main character, Deenie was beautiful. And thus, just like she had expected, Deenie turned out to be beautiful too. Her mother had overwhelming expectations of Deenie to become a professional model. However, while going through an interview, she suspected there was something wrong with her backbone as she could not walk normally like the others. The checkup at the hospital proved she had Scoliosis ( curved backbone) and her relatives began to break down. She had to wear a brace for four years and give up her cheerleading and modeling. Her mother was desperate in getting her a modeling job and this devastated her. Many things happened on the way with her boyfriend, Buddy and her best friends. She refused to accept the truth and became hot-tempered with her annoying brace. Her sister was supposed to score flying colors as she always did, but this time, she disappointed her mother by dating her father's worker and flung her tests.

Why recommend:

I enjoyed this book alot because the book seems like it was talking about my life. Deenie had scoliosis and I had it too, except the fact i don't need to wear a brace. She had a gymnastic friend who had eczema and I suffer badly from it too. It was really interesting as I could finally discover my feelings and what others think of me. Especially, the author scooped up many emotional words and picked out every little action. I felt Deenie's fustration when she attempted to cut her hair short and her disappointment.

You might wonder why most of my book recommendations are written by Judy Blume. I am fanatically in love with her books as I like to read about other people
s life in a simple way and specific in a way I feel I was the character. I hope everybody could read it and experience more about people.

4 items:

The scoliosis brace plays an important role in Deenie's fustration and anger as it was the thing that felt uncomfortable and redraw her from her dreams

Money was very important as her brace costs her family a bomb and her father had difficulty struggling with his work.

Her mother also expected her sister to get flying colors for her exams but unfortunately she was dating her father's helper which caused her grades to decrease.

Deenie snipped off her hair out of fustration and created the trend, leaving a few strands dangling behind as she was popular.

Book Reviewed Title: Then Again, Maybe I Won't.

Author : Judy Blume.

What it is about:

It is writing about a boy's life, Josh. He was poor to start with, and he always describe his father as a useless chap because his father coops himself up in the garage below all day till night. But one day he surprisingly grew rich because his father has been inventing a new gadget all along, that you could switch on a lamp without using chemicals or the presence of power sockets. Josh was not used to being rich and met a neighbor which was a hypocrite. He performs like an angel to strangers but is a devil inside. He steals and prank calls, which Josh disliked and every time he was hesitant or at loss, he get cramps on his stomach. He fell in love with his 'devil' friend's sister deeply. He then realized she was right next door and he could see her from the window changing, getting undressed. He then ordered a pair of binoculars for his birthday present to peep at her, but lied to his parents. Then he dreamed about her and woke up finding out he had experienced his first wet dream. Then his mother hired a housekeeper to replace his grandmother's chores, cooking. His grandmother grew mad and locked herself in the room for several weeks.

Everything finally turned out perfect and he never touched his binoculars again, neither did his friend steal anymore.

Why recommend:

I loved the way the author described the different problems he has to handle or react. I enjoy reading his amazing life full of things happening and not boring. I prefer the part which he gets stomach cramps as it is quite ridiculous or hilarious to suffer every time her gets nervous. The author specifies every part of his life and ends happily, speaking as simpler as possible and tracks him. I hope we could enjoy Judy Blume books if you are interested in reading about people's active lives.
